1000 Mile
1000 Mile have provided all competitors in the Polar Race with
their "1000 Mile Ultimate Tactel Liner" socks.
Believe it or not, the 1000 Mile sock was initially developed
as a medical aid for sufferers from poor circulation and foot
associated problems. But nowadays it's used by world class
athletes as a means of preventing blistering and controlling
perspiration.
As a base layer under a thicker walking sock, these unique
double layer liners provide for an ideal arctic walking
experience.

Mountain Hardwear
To keep the Polar Race Checkpoint Team warm and cosy for long
periods of time in the bitter arctic conditions, a tent is
needed that's roomy yet stable, something built to handle
extended use in the harshest of environments. It has to be
adaptable to double as a doctor's surgery or emergency team
shelter, and so something out of the ordinary is called for.
Many thanks to our friends at Mountain Hardware for coming up
with the answer. They have offered to provide us with a tent
that fulfills all of our Checkpoint Team's conflicting needs.
