BIOGRAPHY

Born in Weaste in Salford in 1964, I have lived in the North West all my life. Attended Holly Mount in Tottington, Monton House School in Eccles and Mount St Josephs in Deane, Bolton followed by a bilingual course at Salford Tech. I have enjoyed working in television for 20 years now in various roles and am currently working as Head of Production for ITV News, Granada Manchester

My work is varied and pressurised; I find a great way to ease my stress is to combine a varied social life and indulging in my passions of fell running, climbing and mountaineering. I always want to experience the remote and wild areas of our country.

I am a proud mother of one. Michael is currently studying business and investment at Durham University and having had him at an early age I grew up with him really and my passion for the outdoors developed with Michael in tow and we shared adventurous trips to various corners of the world, kayaking, climbing and mountaineering.

Always having had a deep love of the outdoors and wilderness I have always been determined to experience all that life and the environment has to offer and have always wanted to experience a true wilderness. This determination has been heightened having lost three family members through bereavement and realising how short and precious this life is.

I have been searching for an event which would enable me to achieve this and combine it with raising monies for Christie's Against Cancer and North West Hospices whilst also raising people's awareness to battle cancer and hopefully this will help lessen the unbelievable pain and grief people suffer coping with cancer in their lives.
